“It was He who gave some to be apostles, some
To be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some
To be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s
People for works of service, so that the body of
Christ may be built up until we all reach unity
In the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of
God and become mature, attaining the whole
Measure of the fullness of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-13

Plans are underway for a Vacation Bible School for April School Vacation 2015. Looking for people who would like to help with this very important ministry. If this is something that you might be interested in, please speak with the pastor.
Bible Study will resume on Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 7:30 pm on January 8th, 2015 (weather permitting). Transportation is available if this is something that you might be interested in. We will be looking at the Scripture for the week collectively as a group.
The Choir is growing again and there is always room for more. In fact we have recently received a gift of additional robes from the First Baptist Church of Fall River. If this is something that you may have been meaning to try out, speak with one of the choir members of Joanne….they can always use a few more voices.
The children’s choir sang for Christmas Sunday and had a great time. The next time we sang the same hymn in worship they were thrilled to know the song….and sang their hearts out…they will be practicing to sing on a regular basis….if you know a child that would love to take part, won’t you spread the word?
Participating in Worship
There are many opportunities to participate in Worship on Sunday mornings. If you enjoy reading Scripture, offering prayer or sharing a story with the children, let me know….I would be happy to include you in the worship experience. There is a sign up sheet in the social hall to read Scripture, feel free to sign up for that or speak with me about some other way you might want to participate.
From the Pastor’s Pen
This past Advent and Christmas Season culminated with three women accepting the Lord through the waters of baptism on Christmas Eve. This is always a very moving moment for me as a pastor, as I am certain it is for all of you who remember your own baptism and the accepting of Jesus Christ into your own lives.
I am grateful for the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of North Baptist Church. We continue to grow because God brings people to us, because we through Him possess the spiritual gifts they meet others where they are.
By ourselves none of us possess all that is needed, but together as a church family, God is using us for a very important task. We are called to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world, and that world starts on Sunday mornings in worship where we come to be renewed and regenerated in order to go forward and do the work of Christ in the world that we are called to do. We know because of our personal relationship with Jesus Christ how important He is to our lives, why wouldn’t we want to share that love with those we come in contact with?
February 22nd, the first Sunday in Lent is your opportunity to put your faith into action by participating in Bring a Friend to Church Sunday….In His Service….Pastor Debbie

+Memorial Flowers have adorned our sanctuary on several Sunday’s throughout the year through the gift of those who donate them in memory of a loved one. We now have a new florist who does a wonderful job. We are taking orders for the new year, if there is a Sunday that you would like to order flowers for, please see the list in the social hall to sign up. The money for the flowers is collected two weeks prior to the Sunday chosen. (Please make checks payable to North Baptist Church). If you are reading this and are a out of town friend or member and would like to choose a week, please call the church office and leave a message with your contact information two weeks prior to the Sunday you would like to order to make billing arrangements.
Weekly Bible Study
Bible Study is open to anyone wishing to further their understanding and knowledge through the use of group study. Bible Study meets every Tuesday evening from 6:30-7:45 pm. Transportation is available by calling the pastor or the church office. The bible study generally looks at a particular book of the bible and disects it with the use of supporting materials.
Currently in Bible Study we are looking at the pastor’s text for the week in a number of different translations. As a group we look at the text through the word and commentaries and then attempt to figure out what it means for us today. This study is very helpful to the pastor in planning her message as well as helpful to those who come to the study in the preparation of their hearts and minds for the message.
New Classes will be beginning shortly. They will take place on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00.
For directions please click google maps under the CONTACT US tab.
Our Children’s event for the upcoming month is a bowling party at Wonder Bowl in New Bedford, on February 23rd, 2013 at 3:00 PM…After bowling, we will go back to the church for pizza and make your own sundae….Hope you will feel welcome to come and join us…!!!!
We have Sunday School for children of all ages….its a time when some very talented people in a safe church environment teach children about the Love and life of Christ. They learn about the importance of leading a Christian life in a world that is not always Christian friendly. They learn that they are models, and how to do as Jesus would do in their daily lives. They learn that they have a very special place in the mission of the church in the world. They are involved in the worship of the church, and have a special part of the happenings of the church regularly. Won’t you consider bringing your children to this loving atmosphere, where they learn how to be kind, how to treat others as Christ would want them to be treated.
